Toa Payoh East Kim Keat Ripples
Designed by: Steven
A calm, light-filled Toa Payoh home where rounded forms and pastel purple and blues create a gentle rhythm, while warm wood and practical built-ins keep everyday living effortless.
Pastel purple bedroom retreat. The feature wall shifts to a soft pastel purple—think lilac/lavender—which bathes the room in a calm, romantic glow. Warm cove lighting along the headboard skims the purple, creating a sunrise effect without glare. A seamless raised platform with hidden storage keeps the bed feeling “built in” and clutter-free; rounded corners and a boucle vanity stool add plush softness. Sleek, glossy wardrobe panels and a compact vanity tuck into the corner, letting the lilac backdrop be the star while neutrals (linen, ivory, light oak) ground the palette.
Living room, curved nook in pastel blue. A soft-mint sofa faces a low, marble-topped media bench that wraps the bay window; its rounded corners echo the home’s curve language. The signature element is the arched shelving nook in pastel blue—backlit and styled with small collectibles—adding a playful pop against the light neutral shell. Linear ceiling lighting and a slim fan keep the space airy, while a fluted, arched TV accent subtly frames the screen without visual bulk.
Dining & passage accents. A chunky live-edge dining table on black metal legs brings warmth and grain to all the pastels. Overhead, simple cage pendants and a gentle ceiling swoop (with hidden lighting) guide you from living to dining, keeping the circulation soft. By the entry, a sculpted blue pass-through ledge carves into the cabinetry.
In the enclosed kitchen, matte blue lower cabinets pair with clean white uppers and a light marble-look backsplash. Under-cabinet lighting, a magnetic knife rail, and integrated dishwasher keep prep practical; radiused open shelves repeat the home’s curved motif. Hardware is kept minimal so the color blocking and smooth profiles do the talking—fresh, modern, and easy to maintain.
