322C Sumang Walk
Terrestrial-Inspired Contemporary Home at Sumang Walk
Design Concept:
This Sumang Walk residence embraces a dark, earthy palette and organic forms, creating an atmosphere that is grounded, sensual, and tactile. The design draws inspiration from nature’s raw textures — stone, wood, and earth — blending them seamlessly with modern comforts and sophisticated lighting. The result is a home that feels like a warm sanctuary, cocooned in rich tones and sculptural elements.
Living Room:
The living area is a dramatic showcase of organic artistry. A sculpted wall with a cave-like textured recess becomes the focal point, highlighted by concealed cove lighting that accentuates its curves and depth. The irregular, naturalistic cut-outs evoke the feeling of a carved rock formation, blurring the line between interior architecture and natural landscape.
Anchoring the space is a curved ivory sofa that softens the rugged backdrop. The neutral upholstery complements the earthy wall textures, creating balance between comfort and bold design. Minimalist built-in storage in muted beige tones ensures the room remains uncluttered, while playful circular wall accents add a touch of modern whimsy.
Kitchen & Dining:
The kitchen continues the terrestrial theme with dark wood cabinetry, matte finishes, and stone-inspired surfaces. An island counter with vertical slatted detailing doubles as a dining hub, paired with sleek bar stools in soft grey fabric. Warm ambient lighting beneath the cabinetry and a sculptural pendant lamp above the island introduce a refined glow, ensuring the space feels both functional and intimate.
Bedroom:
In the bedroom, the earthy narrative continues with timber wall paneling and a raised platform bed. Concealed lighting under the platform and around the built-in desk creates a floating, atmospheric effect. A unique feature wall incorporates a textured cave-like alcove, giving the room a grounding focal point that mirrors the organic language of the living area. Floor-to-ceiling curtains in deep tones enhance the cocoon-like quality, while large windows open to natural light, providing contrast and balance.
